But a new report in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Recode (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.recode.net\/2019\/2\/25\/18224696\/chart-transition-journalism-public-relations-content-social-media-jobs\" target=\"_blank\">Recode<\/a>, using data from LinkedIn, suggests it may depend on how you define a journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"855\" height=\"640\" src=\"http:\/\/ebersolemedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-26-at-12.07.14-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2504\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ebersolemedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-26-at-12.07.14-PM.png 855w, https:\/\/ebersolemedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-26-at-12.07.14-PM-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/ebersolemedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-26-at-12.07.14-PM-768x575.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using more expansive definitions of journalism, the data suggest that job titles have morphed in such a way that the journalism skill set is sometimes applied in the service of jobs that fall outside of traditional journalistic categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Recode article, &#8220;LinkedIn\u2019s data includes anyone whose title was journalist \u2014 or a wide range of related titles like newsletter editor, news director, reporter \u2014 regardless of where they work.
