According to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/neural\/2020\/09\/21\/why-twitters-image-cropping-algorithm-appears-to-have-white-bias\/\" target=\"_blank\">TNW websit<\/a>e, people have been noticing cropping anomalies that may have to do with the color of the featured person&#8217;s skin-tones. According to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/neural\/2020\/09\/21\/why-twitters-image-cropping-algorithm-appears-to-have-white-bias\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Next Web<\/a>, &#8220;Light skin bias in algorithms is\u00a0well documented in fields ranging from\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-019-03228-6\" target=\"_blank\">healthcare<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/neural\/2020\/06\/24\/stop-calling-it-bias-ai-is-racist\/\" target=\"_blank\">law enforcement<\/a>.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to know more about implicit bias, see this <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/implicit.harvard.edu\/implicit\/takeatest.html\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a> and take a test (I recommend the Skin-tone IAT).
