  1. Before there was the leisure of a camera to capture a moment or a video camera to capture moments there used to only be the communication between people. “Communication is a basic feature of human life. In general, the word communication refers to people interacting in ways that at least one of the parties involved understands the message.” (Turow) I think this ad shows exactly how communication has grown from people explaining to now people showing. Everyone has a way of communicating and understanding and everyones way is different, that’s why I think this ad is very interesting and spot on.

  2. This really supports Marshall McLuhan’s theory of “the media is the message,” although I don’t think this is quite how McLuhan would have demonstrated it! It’s very true, though. While film employs sound and dialogue, the predominant feature of a film is the visual aspect. If you take that away, it loses it’s power. The director of the new silent film, “The Artist” explored this idea, defending his choice to eliminate sound because it forced audiences to focus on the visual component in order to understand the story. Although film has evolved to rely on sensory stimuli beyond the visual, as this ad demonstrates, taking out the visual component severely diminishes the effect. Also, this ad is hilarious and very witty. Thanks for sharing!
